Yoga's birth
People say one day a fish, swimming in Indian Ocean's calm waters, went along a cave, where was enchanted by a melodious voice. It belonged to god Shiva who was explaining the magic positions (asanas) - created by himself and strictly reserved to gods to his beloved wife Parvati, at that moment. The fish, listening to these teachings, underwent a complete metamorphosis that turned him into a man. From that time Matysedra (meaning, in Sanskrit, "fish made man") handed down the techniques learnt from the god as a great secret to his disciples, becoming, in that way, the first yogi.
